Beginners instinctively look at their feet during the pop-up, shifting weight over the nose and causing nose-dives or sudden wipeouts.

After reviewing footage with Coach Kiyas, students drop their hips, point their front arm along the face of the wave, and unlock smooth, 50-meter green-wave rides.
Day 1: Whitewash & Pop-up Mechanics
Dry land theory and body mechanics followed by gentle shallow water practice at Baby Point. Master the 3-step pop-up without touching your knees.
Day 3: Unbroken Waves & Angle Take-offs
Paddle out at Peanut Farm. Learn wave reading, spotting sets, and timing your paddle into real unbroken green waves with your coach assisting.
Day 5–7: Independent Surfer Graduation
Catch waves unassisted. Learn bottom turns, speed generation, ocean safety etiquette, and board control that enables you to surf anywhere in the world.

Which surf camp package should I choose: 3-day, 5-day, or 7-day?
If you have a short travel window or are stopping in Arugam Bay for a weekend, the 3-Day Camp ($350) gives you a great introduction. If your goal is to genuinely catch green waves independently, choose the 5-Day Camp ($550). If you want the full bucket-list transformation with video analysis and the Kumana Wildlife Safari, the 7-Day Camp ($750) offers the highest value.
Are your surf instructors officially ISA certified?
Yes. All our lead coaches hold official International Surfing Association (ISA) Coaching Accreditations and Surf Life Saving Ocean Rescue credentials. We maintain a strict maximum student-to-coach ratio of 1:2.
How does video analysis coaching work?
Our videographer films your surfing from the beach with high-zoom telephoto lenses and drones. Following your session, we review the video on screen with your coach to analyze your pop-up, posture, and line selection.
Do I need to know how to swim to join?
You do not need to be an Olympic swimmer! We teach complete beginners in waist-deep water with soft-top foam boards that float effortlessly. Your instructor is right beside you at all times.
Can you arrange airport transportation from Colombo?
Yes! We provide safe, air-conditioned private taxi transfers directly from Colombo Bandaranaike Airport (BIA) or Mattala Airport (HRI) straight to the surf camp doorstep. Just mention it when chatting on WhatsApp.
