Safari FAQs
Why should I combine surfing with a safari in Arugam Bay?
Surfing is a physically demanding sport. Most surfers need a 'lay day' (rest day) to let their muscles recover. A wildlife safari is the perfect way to spend this rest day, allowing you to experience Sri Lanka's incredible wildlife without exhausting yourself.
What animals can I see in Kumana National Park?
Kumana National Park is world-renowned for its birdlife, but it is also one of the best places in Sri Lanka to spot Leopards, wild Asian Elephants, Crocodiles, Sloth Bears, and Water Buffalo, often with far fewer crowds than Yala National Park.
What is included in a Tuk Tuk Safari?
A Tuk Tuk Safari is a rugged, authentic local adventure. We take you through hidden village roads, past untouched lagoons to spot crocodiles and wild elephants, and end the evening at a secret spot for an incredible sunset.
Can I book the safari if I am already staying elsewhere?
Yes! While our full package includes accommodation, you can also book just the Kumana Safari or Tuk Tuk Safari with us directly. We will pick you up from your hotel in Arugam Bay.
When is the best time for a safari?
We highly recommend either the early morning safari (departing around 5:30 AM) to see animals when they are most active, or the afternoon safari (departing around 2:00 PM) which ends with the golden hour lighting.
