1. Peanut Farm (The Ultimate Log Spot)

Located 20 minutes south of Arugam Bay, Peanut Farm is widely considered the best longboard wave on the coast.

The wave has two distinct sections. While the outside section can offer a fun, punchy drop, the inside section is where the magic happens. It reforms into a perfectly groomed, knee-to-waist-high wall of water that peels endlessly along the sandbank. It is slow, forgiving, and provides incredibly long rides.

Vibe: Mellow and fun.
Best Tide: Mid to Low tide.
Board of Choice: A classic 9'4 single fin.

2. Elephant Rock (The Scenic Cruiser)

Just before you reach Peanut Farm, you'll find Elephant Rock. Known primarily as a beginner spot (which it is!), it is also a fantastic playground for experienced longboarders on smaller days.

The wave wraps around the massive rock formation and runs cleanly down the sand. Because it's heavily protected from the wind, the face of the wave is usually glass-smooth, making it perfect for practicing your footwork and noseriding.

Vibe: Beautiful and relaxed.
Best Tide: Low tide.
Watch out for: Beginners dropping in on the inside!

3. Whiskey Point (The Party Wave)

Heading 15 minutes north of Arugam Bay, Whiskey Point is a massive sandbank that catches almost any swell.

While it can get slightly fat and mushy on high tide, that is exactly what makes it a great longboard wave. It doesn't have the steep, racing walls of Main Point, allowing you to easily lock in a trim line and cruise for 100 meters.

Vibe: Social and busy.
Best Tide: Mid-tide (High tide can get too fat and stop breaking).
Bonus: It's right next to a few great beach bars, perfect for a post-surf coconut.

4. Panama Point (The Secret Slider)

If you are willing to travel further south, Panama Point is a fickle but rewarding wave. It requires a solid swell to start working, but when it does, it produces a very soft, crumbling right-hander.

Because it lacks the power of Okanda or Main Point, shortboarders usually ignore it. This means you can often log here completely alone.

Wax: The water is around 28°C (82°F) year-round. You must use Tropical wax. Basecoat and Cold water wax will instantly melt off your board.
Timing: The wind generally picks up around 11:30 AM and blows onshore. For classic glassy longboard conditions, you need to be in the water at 6:00 AM.
