What to Pack for a Surf Trip to Arugam Bay

Packing for a surf holiday requires a delicate balance. You want to bring everything you need to stay comfortable in the tropical heat, but you don't want to drag massive, heavy suitcases across the country.

The Surf Essentials

Even if you are an absolute beginner taking Group Surf Lessons, you should bring your own personal surf gear to ensure a comfortable fit.

Rash Guards: Bring at least two high-quality UV-rated rash guards. The sun is intense, and this protects your skin from both UV rays and the rough wax on the surfboard.
Boardshorts or Surf Bikinis: Bring swimwear that stays on in the whitewash. Boardshorts should have a secure drawstring, and bikinis should be athletic, surf-specific cuts.
